The latest craze proving popular with celebrities is Buddha jewellery, according to MSNBC.

Among the fans of the items is Cameron Diaz, who particularly likes a white gold mother of pearl and diamond Buddha necklace.

Items are said to lighten skin tone and offer an "enlightening" jewellery experience.

One jeweller Suzanne Wilson has launched a new collection including Buddha pendants, which are said to be spiritual in meaning and range in price from $700-$2,000.

Beyonce and Halle Berry also both have pieces including a leather cuff with a white gold Buddha and a yellow gold Buddha necklace.

People wearing the jewellery are said to have claimed the items gave them a sense of peace and wellbeing.
