Indian jewellery stores mix gifts, gold and creativity

Thursday, 11th November 2004 (4340 views)

New jewellery stores in India are proving popular with consumers during the Diwali and Dhanteras festivals, as shoppers rush to buy specially created jewellery.

According to the Telegraph India, stores that are doing particularly well are Diagold, Anjali Jewellers, Syndicate Jewellers, Senco Jewellers, Orra, Kirti and BC Sen.

The Diagold centre has offered a more unusual range of jewellery that is traditional but not particularly conventional.

Offering contemporary 18-carat jewellery in gold designs such as chandelier cuts and dewdrops, the store is a hit with the younger and trendy market.

Many of the jewellers are offering special gifts, discounts and lucky draws to mark the events.

Other goods being sold by the jewellery firms include gold necklaces, gold kangans and pure gold coins engraved with images of Ganesha.
