Officers on the hunt for designer jewellery thieves

Wednesday, 10th November 2004 (4282 views)

Luxury jeweller Links of London and police are appealing for witnesses after the firm's Edinburgh outlet was robbed.

The store which sells designer gold and silver jewellery was robbed in the early hours of Tuesday morning and police are now looking for any information to help retrieve the items.

Items stolen were worth thousands of pounds and included an 18 carat gold necklace and earrings.

The smash and grab raid involved masked thieves on motorbikes, who had ridden past neighbouring stores such as Louis Vuitton and Emporio Armani.

A spokeswoman for the company praised security, claiming that if they had not arrived so fast the thieves would have stolen many more items of jewellery.
