Handloom and jewellery expo proves popular in IndiaFriday, 29th October 2004 (5023 views) An exhibition of the latest saris and gold jewellery was held this week in Chennai by the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation.The jewellery section attracted a lot of visitors, with rare designs and antique finishes as well as more modern looks, from all different areas. Sales manager, S Verghese, told The Hindu: "This is the first time we are concentrating on other States." Among the products was one and five gram gold jewellery, with pachaloha bracelets, gold plated temple jewellery and semi-precious stone sets. The exhibition is running until November 10, and also offered the latest designs of saris, with a 10 per cent discount on top goods.
