Australian jeweller proves a big hit

Thursday, 28th October 2004 (4758 views)

Australian jeweller Joe Dipierdomenico is celebrating his success after eleven years in the business.

The Dia-oro business first began with hardly any jewellery and just $1000, but now it has sales of nearly $2.5 million each year, according to The Age.

In fact the firm has now won an award in the retail category for its business growth.

Although stock was worth around $18,000 at most when Dia-oro was first started, jewellery in the shop is now worth $40,000, offering nine and 18 carat gold jewellery.

Originally beginning as a wholesaler, the store soon moved into selling directly to the public.

With three stores set up already, Mr Dipierdomenico now hopes to open four additional outlets in the next two years.
