MMTC to host Indian gold eventTuesday, 5th October 2004 (4429 views) The leading bullion trader in India, MMTC, has announced it is to hold a gold festival this month to display the latest jewellery collections.'Festival of Gold 2004' will be held on October 18-24 in New Delhi and will show more than 50,000 items made by more than 5,000 craftsmen from all across India. This will be the seventh edition of the event, which sees each piece of gold jewellery certified for purity by MMTC. It is hoped the event will allow consumers and traders to interact and view the latest trends, with a mix of ethnic and modern designs. MMTC is one of a number of agencies appointed by the government to control the importing of gold, silver and platinum in India.
