Golden consolation for Miss Ghana runner upWednesday, 29th September 2004 (4719 views) The recent Miss Ghana competition has seen the first, second and third place contestants all treated to a host of lavish gifts.Yvonne Hayfron, who represented the Central Region came in third place, but was given a set of 18 carat gold jewellery worth five million cedis, amongst other gifts, according to Ghana Web. The event this year tried to offer something a little different with the winning contestant being compared to a list of criteria including beauty, brains and quality material that can rub shoulders with any beauty queen in the world without any qualms. In addition, top African artists performed for the event, which was hoping to find the future Miss World, with performers including singer Sheila Nvannugi.
