Indian trend for branded jewellery

Wednesday, 15th September 2004 (4719 views)

India is experiencing a boom for branded jewellery, with more than 30 brands being set up over the last year.

White gold is still dominating the overall market and is becoming increasingly popular as a precious metal used for the branded jewellery.

According to rediff.com, industry experts claim that branded jewellery is at present increasing by 15 per cent each year and is forecast to grow by 40 to 45 per cent within the next three years.

The designs themselves are different too, with pieces moving away from traditional looks and taking on a lightweight style.

Titan Industries was the first company in India to have a national presence in the branded jewellery sector under the Tanishq name, which is now expecting to double its turnover in the next two years.
