Pure Gold begins major expansionWednesday, 1st September 2004 (4305 views) Pure Gold Jewellers, LLC, has announced its store opening plans for five new locations in the United Arab Emirates, further adding to its growing number of stores.Abu Dhabi's Hamden Street will be home to the group's largest 22-karat store and by the end of September Pure Gold will open two 'semi-exclusive' showrooms in the city. "Hamdan Street is emerging as a vibrant shopping quarter in Abu Dhabi," Karim Merchant, managing director of Pure Gold, told AMEinfo "The Abu Dhabi Mall, Mega Mall-Sharjah and Gold Centre-Deira are exciting retail environments with excellent growth potential for the new Pure Gold showrooms we've planned." The Hamdan Street store will showcase thousands of 22-karat designs in its 2,000 square foot floor space. "The expansion taking place in the next two years is in line with our aim to open 35 stores in the UAE by 2006," said Mr Merchant. As well as the stores in the UAE, Pure Gold plans further expansion in to the Gulf region. Pure Gold said it expects sales to rise by approximately 25 per cent.
