Signet unveils second quarter sales figuresMonday, 16th August 2004 (4171 views) Signet Group has announced its second quarter sales results and revealed that total group sales were up by six per cent to £328.6 million.During the 13 weeks from May 2 to July 31, total sales at the firm rose by 8.7 per cent, with the US offering the most significant contribution towards profits. Group chief executive Terry Burman commented: "The Group continued to perform well in the second quarter." Mr Burman claimed UK performance was "ahead of the general retail market" and that US sales were "a strong result in a changeable retail environment". The firm has recently adopted a new accounting policy for its sales figures but claims this does not have any effect on like for like sales figures.
