Zak Jewels 2004 is coming to an end in India but has offered visitors a host of gold items and new designs.

The four-day event taking place in the Taj Palace hotel was opened by leading model Indrani Dasgupta and included over 60 stores from all across India.

An extensive choice of jewellery was displayed including gold, diamond and platinum pieces.

One designer present at the event was Anuradha Chhabra, showcasing the 'Starz' collection of intricately designed pieces.

In addition the Indian designer displayed an ethnic 'Zubeida' range of chokers and necklaces in 24 carat gold.

A number of Indians are now choosing to enter the jewellery market and many designers at the event agreed that jewellery is slowly becoming a fashion statement in the country.
