Golden piece of history stolen

Friday, 13th August 2004 (3880 views)

Gold jewellery once belonging to Marie Antoinette has been stolen from a Notting Hill home.

According to police the stolen items included a necklace and matching earrings, with a crystal and enamel locket placed on a gold chain.

It is thought two youths stole the jewellery items during the night.

The pieces had been in the 65 year old victim's family for over 200 years and now police are worried they could have been dumped in the Notting Hill area.
