Gold watches setting the latest fashion for men

Thursday, 29th July 2004 (5097 views)

Watches are becoming the new fashion accessory to reveal someone's personality and offer the latest in gadgetry.

Now companies are producing watches covered in diamonds or made from 14 or 18-carat white gold, with big yellow gold items set to be the next big thing.

Rhonda Gentry, sales manager at Markman's told Knox News: "They are more fashion now. You used to tell a lot about a man by his shoes. Now you can tell a lot by his watch. Having a certain watch is like a status symbol."

"It's time for yellow (gold) to make a brilliant comeback. Yellow gold watches have the ability to make an individual look established, polished and dressy," the Jewelry Information Centre added.

Stars such as Nelly, 50 Cent and Jessica Simpson's husband Nick Lachey have all been seen wearing the latest styles.

Interesting shapes, bold designs, large watch faces and multiple date and time features are reportedly the main features of interest for consumers.
