British Hollywood siren Kate Beckinsale has been splashing out on jewellery, according to reports.

The star of Pearl Harbour was seen on a tour of prestigious jewellers Bulgari in Beverly Hill's.

The Daily Mirror reported that the shopping trip was part of a spree across the exclusive retail area, as Ms Beckinsale investigated the latest offerings from high-class designers.

Jewellery has become a key facet of the Hollywood outfit, with jewellers such as Bulgari now typically showcasing millions of dollars worth of goods at every Academy Awards ceremony.

Last year gold jewellery formed part of the contents of a goodie bag handed out at the star-studded Oscar ceremony, with pieces from Carolee's signature collection included.
