Angelic singer goes on golden shopping spree

Monday, 24th May 2004 (4212 views)

UK singer Charlotte Church has been spending her fortunes this week, splashing out on glamourous jewellery.

The Welsh teenager used some of her millions from the fund she received on her 18th birthday to buy a diamond crucifix for her mother.

In addition the star bought a diamond ring for herself and a gold watch for her grandmother.

On receiving her present, mother Maria told the Mirror: "Charlotte always said she'd buy me some bling-bling to mark her coming of age and the cross is absolutely beautiful. I am really touched that she has bought me something so lovely. I shall treasure it forever."

The items bought from top Cardiff jewellers Clive Ranger are thought to have cost around £5,00 for the crucifix and several thousands of pounds for the ring and watch.
