Bulgari reports $79 million in jewellery profitsTuesday, 18th May 2004 (4125 views) Jewellery sales at Bulgari increased by 13.8 per cent in the first quarter of 2004, according to its latest results.The contemporary Italian jeweller revealed total turnover was up by six per cent compared to the year before at $190 million. Francesco Trapani, Chief Executive Officer of the Bulgari Group told Tacy Ltd: "I am very satisfied with the obtained sales results, which are coherent with our growth objectives for the entire year 2004. I am particularly pleased with the very good level of the orders received during the latest Basel fair." Mr Trapani claimed that the positive results highlight the effectiveness of the company's efforts to "increase the gross margin and to further control operating expenses". Bulgari has also just launched a new campaign for its Astrale jewellery collection made from white gold and based on harmonious shapes and diamond motifs.
