A new jewellery expo showcasing a range of innovative items saw a designer create an item from scratch.

Craig Cassio of Cassio Creations shaped and made a woman's wedding band from a rectangular piece of gold, according to The Courier.

The expo held at The Woodlands Waterway was organised to help businesses meet new contacts and customers.

The jeweller focuses mainly on custom made designs and also offered free cleaning, polishing and gem inspection.

Cassio was attending the event for the first time and only opened a retail store two years ago.
