Luxury watch collection uses golden touch in US market

Friday, 12th March 2004 (4553 views)

A luxury watch collection featuring a host of gold items is to be launched in the US.

Carl F. Bucherer luxury watches are produced by Switzerland's leading watch and jewellery retailer. The move to target US customers was announced at BaselWorld, the world's largest gold and jewellery trade fair.

Designs pay high attention to detail, quality and technological standards and the company likes to produce unique items.

Collections include a limited edition watch which comes in white gold. Only 125 have been made and each has been tested over 15 days for technical performance. In addition there is the classic gold watch 'Archimedes' and 'Alacria', a gold watch set off with diamonds.

When looking at the US market the new line of "contemporary interpretation of classical traditional design" will target "fine jewellers and specific watch retailers".

Prices range from $1,700 to $40,000, with an average sale expected to be at around $8,000.

Items are already available in parts of Europe, Russia, Asia and the Middle East.
