Gold and Jewellery get boost in Bangkok

Friday, 6th February 2004 (4461 views)

Thailand's gold, jewellery and gem industries are set to get a boost with further high profile events being announced in Bangkok's Fashion City project.

A fashion show featuring German super model Nadja Auermann will mark the launch of the project aimed at boosting Bangkok's profile as an international fashion destination.

The project will receive further promotion with the planned Fashion Extravaganza Parade due to take place on February 15. Organisers say the event will combine a huge parade with a fashion show.

The fashion houses Louis Vitton, Christian Dior, Channel and Miss Sixty have all been invited.

It is hoped the event will attract more international appreciation of Thailand as an Asian fashion hub and a centre for gold and jewellery.
