World Gold Council exhibits extraordinary new collection, with six key themes, at VICENZAORO First

The World Gold Council (WGC) has returned to the Vicenza Fair with “Gold Expressions 2011” - a collection deeply rooted in gold's extraordinary heritage and crafted by the finest gold jewellers of today. This spectacular collection of over 120 pieces from 23 of the greatest Italian gold jewellery houses, celebrates Italian creativity and craftsmanship at its most vibrant. “Gold has never been more valuable. As consumers search for pieces which can truly become the treasures of tomorrow, we believe that Italian design and the perfectionism of Italian manufacturing will become even more important in defining the ultimate in jewellery. Gold Expressions 2011 showcases jewels which simply could not be created anywhere else in the world” says David Lamb, Managing Director for Jewellery at the World Gold Council. Gold”s heroic history continues to inspire new generations - modern Italian design brilliance is always intrinsically interlinked with its rich history. The art of the goldsmith has never been more vivid, as seen in the following six key themes emerging from Gold Expressions 2011.

Statement Cuff - the latest iconic piece either as a single bangle or stacked in extravagant layers.

Soft Gothic - where architecturally inspired motifs create a new aesthetic.

Intricate and Delicate - as impact is created through tiny precious details. A totally fresh modern take on jewellery, these pieces look as great on the beach as they do in the ballroom.

Opulent Organics - a return to nature’s shapes and forms. They brilliantly harness our rediscovered love of all the planet has to offer, mixing treasured gold with a myriad of precious gifts - diamonds on the most delicate of flower.

Bold Links - fundamental to the jewellery wardrobe, the chain gets even more confident.

Sculptural Forms - where art becomes intimate. These pieces are something of a contradiction; they magically combine yesterday and tomorrow, the ancient and the modern.

Roberto Ditri, President of Vicenza Fair said: “Once again in 2011, Vicenza Fair is proud to be a founding partner of Gold Expressions as proof of our passion for promoting the culture of jewellery around the world. The relationship of history and art, for which Italy is famous, has been told in gold. Today, Gold Expressions again
forges the link between ideas and their execution, in presenting the highest achievements in design and manufacturing in gold. This is an indissoluble bond which secures the competitiveness of our companies”.

Experience the Vicenza Fair from 15th-20th January 2011. Whether you are looking to make an investment, for an everlasting gift or to create a bond of affection from generation to generation - our six key themes will provide plenty of variety.
