In every culture, across geography and time, man has fashioned pure gold into a ring, a never-ending circle of meaning. To create our symbol for the World Gold Council we took three gold rings; each represents a point in time – the past, the present and the future. Together they stand for eternity because gold, elemental and unchanging, has been around since the beginning of time and will outlast any moment. We think of the outer ring as the future of gold; larger and more brilliant, encompassing even more possibility than the past or the present.
Each ring also represents a world, a circle, where the World Gold Council strives to add value: to our own community and to the colleagues we work with and learn from, to our members - the world’s foremost gold mining companies - and to the world at its widest, as a beacon and catalyst; a source of inspiration about what gold is and can be.
